Programmes like Swayamsidha Programme (an integrated scheme for the empowerment of women), National Commission for Women, Many NGOs working on women rights and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana, are some of the major steps towards women empowerment and gender equality in India.

A woman is the one who has the power to create, nurture and transform. Below are some right that every woman in our society should have –

Empowering women economically, socially, educationally politically and legally is going to be a difficult task. It is not going to be easy to change the culture of disrespect for women which are so deep inside in Indian society. But it does not mean that it is impossible.
